Beware when you give your love that Valentine's Day smooch! While lead is banned in paint due to its toxicity levels, a study has shown that lead can be found in MANY lipstick brands. The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics did a study and tested over 400 different kinds of lipstick. Bad news. Most tested positive for lead, which is not safe at any level. What's even worse, five of the nine worst offenders are made by L'Oreal, the world's largest cosmetic maker. L'Oreal and the FDA insist there is no need to panic but CSC co-founder Stacy Malkan begs to differ. She says the following on the lead levels:
